Susan, have you had success with your intergration? We use the intergration and synchronization here, but still have numerous problems to over come, as I have posted below. We still have many issues with linking, but are at a stand still with ongoing problems in syncronization.
(posted on: Have you sucessfully intergrated RE to EE)
Hi, we have used the RE and EE integration and have had some success in pulling information over. However, in saying that each time we run synchronization something enviably goes wrong. One of our challenges was that after synchronization was run duplicated address would appear in both data bases. BB has finally been able to fix this for us. This weeks problem has been after sync was run, there is unlinking between email, phone and cell numbers. We have made a case out it and hope to hear about a fix. I am hesitant to run synchronization incase something more detrimental happens. Does anyone else feel the same way?. Who else out there has the same problems?
Sonja,
We have had numerous issues with the "sync" over the last 2 years. One problem with name changes, head of household (divorced mom marries, and we had the stepfather set up to be the constituent, so it would really mess up the divorced mom's record). We sat down and ran the sync and looked at each of the records on both sides, fixed the problems. You have to really look at how you have set up the relationships in the configuration of the sync. We ended up breaking links and then relinking many of the records. When there is a marriage of a divorced indivdual and the individual's relationship to the student takes precedence over the previous ones that is where you should break the link, fix the Record on RE and then re-link. Also, if address changes occur and they are not synced correctly you will get additional addresses added to RE (if EE is your source). Once we synced a couple of times and fixed the problems, the error report was reduced to nothing. Another kink we found had to do with an a deceased individual in EE, you need to remove the record from the relationships in EE as this will create havoc in RE. Our RE person "kills" off the deceased so that the remaining relationship can stay attached to the gifts. EE and RE do not sync deceased. I would just really spend time going through each of the records and you may find that you can fix things. It does get easier, but it would be much nicer if this was an integration as opposed to a sync.
