    eRequisitions Technicalities

Hello Everyone: My organization continues finding technicalities on eRequisitions. These technicalities go from accounts that do not display budget to the tremendously desire to give the end-user the ability to change their own password thru eRequisitions. I encourage other clients to post their eRequisitions technicalities and possible workarounds that have been created. Let’s help each other. Thank you, Mauricio Zegarra LaGuardia C. College / CUNY

Mauricio: We just purchased the eRequisitions Module, what do you mean about technicalities? Have you been able to solve them? Right now I have encounter that when creating the Purchase Orders some of the fields from the requisition are not being transfer, like the Requestor, department, etc. Did you have these kind of problems? Thank you. Ricardo Latap HACU

eReqs is a decent first step in having an electronic purchasing system. Aside from whatever technical issues that surface from customer to customer, it does need a basic overall in how you are able to sort information, moving from screen to screen, readily seeing budget verses request, etc. It is my understanding that Blackbaud is in discussion with a 3rd party vendor to improve their offering in the field of electronic purchasing. I have strongly encouraged them to make this happen ASAP. I realize this doesn't help you today. We've used the eReqs system since 7-1-04. Thanks for the insight. I think, for what I have seen so far, that is a good system. I just encounter a small problem with carrying over some of the default information from the erequisition to the Purchase Order at the consolidation of the line items. Also the issue with the password with the users that only access the erequisition module. Again, thank you for the information.

How is everybody doing with eRequisitions? Does anyone have created any workaround to its technicalities? Has anyone reported technicalities to Blackbaud? Are they addressing them? Any insight will be helpful. Thanks!

We stopped using it. We are using the more limited version that came with Accounts Payable and are waiting to see what BB replaces ereqs with.

Hi Cheryl Hair, Why did you stop using it?

Dear Cheryl, What is the 'limited version that came with AP' which you referred to. We are a humanitarian aid non-profit and found the eReqs designed for universities. AmeriCares 203-658-9671 [Email Removed]

We are considering the use of eReqs. Anyone who is currently using this module, how did you go about adding the products? For instance, if we purchase office supplies from 3 different vendors, do we enter the vendor's product info (item number, description, etc), and their cost? What happens if the vendor changes the price of the item? What if someone wants to order an item/service that is not listed in the products, are they able to enter this info on their on? Also, what are some of the business rules and other configurations being used for Requisition, Receipt, and Purchase Order in FE? Thanks for your time and input.

William: We set up our items with no specific product. We have 10 line items for Office Depot and 10 line items for any other vendor. Each of this line items do not have any information as of prices account distribution etc. This way we can have up to 10 products in an e-Req and define the product at that time in the description and price for this item, as well as the GL distribution. If you try to have all the products for an specific vendor like office supplies, your list can be very large and not very practical. If you want I can e-mail you a snap shot of our products page and an example of each product.

I would like to see that also. We have thousands of products and it is not very user friendly. [Email Removed] Thanks,
