Is anyone having an issue with the time it takes to generate a report when Advanced Security has been used to filter projects and accounts? Our reports are taking a hiorribly long time to run, and we were told that it is a result of the setup of queries in Advanced security to filter our access to certain account codes and project codes for our users. How are you handling this?

We have that problem too. We have found that the more users that are in FE, the longer it takes. We try to run large reports either early in the morning or late in the day when fewer users are logged on. Also, the bigger your database gets, the longer it will take to "sift" through everything to get what you want.

Thanks William - Can you tell me if you have Advanced Security setup to restrict individual access to certain accounts? These are not big reports we are running. They are queries users are running, such as an Income Statement for one specific account or project code. It would help to see if our setup is similiar or if anyone else has similiar setup to us. This is what we were advised to do by our consultant, but appears to be more of a burden.

We had issues with the report speed times also. We worked with our strategic account manager in customer support. With a copy of our database and specific reports to work with they made some changes to our set up. Our reports are now running much faster. Example was a report that took at least 4 hours to run is now 30 mins. The changes did not speed up all reports but it did work with all the really slow ones.
