Does anyone know if FE will ever have the ability to create custom reports from queries?

I have not found the need. My usual method is to export the query result as a csv or Excel file. Then you can use Excel's formating capability. I am sure Excel is much more flexible than anything that could be set up in FE.

The point is to utilize FE in all aspects. I shouldn't have to export to excel and create a report in Crystal to have the report be formatted the way we need to see the information. With pulling a query, we should be able to use the reporting module to format the query into a report that can be run from FE. I agree with your point that you should not have to export a report to Excel then reformat, etc. There are many filters that can be applied to reports in FE that can make using a report as flexible as using a query. In fact, some of the report filters can be based upon a query. The income statement, for instance, has two levels of filters - one for the report and one for each of the columns. I have found myself using queries and exports less and less as I figure out how to apply the filters and formatting settings to the reports.

We should be able to customize the project reports like the income statement. The ability to add and customize the columns is very helpful. But, we should also be able to customize reports to pull other information from the other modules(ie. invoice info from AP) to put in a customized GL report.
