    Custom Progress Report for FAWEB

Has anyone created a custom Progress Report for FAWEB showing the Category Averages using the EA Open Database module. We are a standard based school and need to print progress reports for our students showing how they are doing in each category (we use a category to represent a standard). Ideally, the report will show us: The students name Each course that the student is enrolled in with the Teacher’s name The categories (or standards per each course) The over all course average for the course Each teacher can print this report through FAWEB. However, we would have to manually collate them for each student. So we would like to run a Crystal report to give us the desired collated copy for students. The FAWEB teacher’s student reports present the data in a 100% scale for category averages. We also need to convert the 100% scale to a 1 to 4 point scale, which is what our standards are based on. This should be doable via a formula in a query to extract the aforementioned data. We have a short time frame, 2 days as of today, 10/14/03, to get our progress report out. Any help would be appreciated. We are desperate and I can be reached at 707-333-5778 if you can assist. Ricardo Llewelyn Director Technology Mare Island Technology Academy Vallejo, California

    Custom Progress Report for FAWEB

You can print a combined progress report (showing all courses for a student) by signing in as an administrator or as the student's advisor under the latest FAWEB. That wouldn't do your conversion from % to pts. but if you HAVE to have that in 2 days you could always modify your translation table to print "One" "Two" etc. within the % ranges and then the standard FAWEB progress report will print their % grade in the class and their translated grade IF you print them individually by teacher/advisor (the combined admin report does not seem to print translated grades). Or just collate the individual reports from the teachers, depending on your experience with and love for Crystal it may be much easier.

    Custom Progress Report for FAWEB

Any custom reports out of FAWEB will require the purchase of EA:OPEN... as you cannot export the grade tables out of FAWEB... just thought you would like to know... I just wish we could edit the canned progress report to look a bit nicer (get rid of the HTML Header/Footer, change some fonts/sizes, etc.) josh sommermeyer technology coordinator long island lutheran middle and high school
