    Donor Recognition

For your annual report, donor list, how do you pull your list? Do you just include Cash & Pledges or do you include Cash & Pay-Cash (no pledges)? Any input would be appreciated! Katie Kupiecki Manager of Development Information Systems Aquinas College

Actually, that would be a call made by your director of development (which sometimes will require input and/or guidance from your director of business). Most annual reports reflect cash payments only; but a donors report may include a combination. Realizing, your donors report is primarily used to recognize all your donors (although some pledges may still be pending). Your annual report is going to show overall accomplishments during the year for your organization. Now... some organizations combine the two. Angela Lyons [Email Removed]

Are you going by CASE Reporting Standards for Educational Fund Raising? This is only my second month on the job and apparently year end reporting has been a big issue. The Director of Development said to use the CASE Mgmt and Reporting Standards as bible. It tells us to report Cash, Pledge, MG Pledge (as long as there was confirmation with the MG company), Stock/Property (booked at Fair Market Value the day it was received), Recurring Gift-Pay Cash and Gift in Kind. If anyone else out there is required to do CASE reporting, Please chime in!

Year End Reporting is different from a "Donors Report" and "Annual Report". Year End Reporting may include gifts from previous years committments. It sounds like there is confusion between the reports. A typical "Donors Report" will include all gift types excluding write-offs. A typical "Annual Report" will include all gift types excluding write-offs and sometimes excluding unpaid pledge balances. "Year End Reporting" is an accountability of everything.
