    Deleting Commited Batches

Is there a rule of thumb for when to do a clean up and delete batches (non-recurring) that have already been commited?  I know that you make the check box and have them automatically delete after committing them, but I saved them initially as a backup.  But now things are getting cluttered, and would like to establish a protocol for this.

    Thanks,

    Hi Susan,

I wouldn't say this is a rule of thumb, each organization is different, but I generally delete old gift batches after balancing with FE. I delete old constituent batches after confirmation of posting.

Thank you - that's a good "thumb rule" most helpful.

We tend to delete them after our weekly balance, but I've been known to hold onto them until the monthly balance with Finance after a busy month or during end of year.
