JOB TITLE: Program IT Manager, National Signature Events
LOCATION: Chicago, IL
REPORTS TO: Senior Director, National Signature Events
BROAD SCOPE AND FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The ALS Association National Office is seeking a Web Content Manager / Information Technology support to join our National Signature Events Department. This position will manage the content needs for the Walk to Defeat ALS and must be passionate about creating a world-class user experience. Excellent web editing and strategy skills and an ability to organize information across a large-scale website are critical for success.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Serve as a resource for National and Chapter staffs’ inquiries to ensure a clear understanding of The ALS Association’s online tools and capabilities in regards to national event programs.
· Manage the implementation of online tools used for event programs.
· Assist Chapters in the set-up of event sites. Provide materials to support the implementation of individual event websites.
· Continually review individual TeamRaiser sites to ensure they are working properly and adhere to the National Signature Events program standards.
· Provide ongoing training on technical “back-end” components related to event programs.
· Partner with Online Marketing Director to oversee the design and construction of the event websites.
· Collaborate with online consultants to understand and implement the new and enhanced features the online platform has to offer on an ongoing basis.
· Participate in ongoing training to have a full understanding of current industry best practices regarding online fundraising.
· Collaborate with Charity Dynamics to address ongoing Chapter technical support regarding the event programs.
· Train and support assigned Chapters on the components and development of the event programs through ongoing communications.
· Collaborate with the Signature Event staff to develop and implement event program guidelines, materials and trainings.
· Responsible for conducting technical training and giving event program presentations at Chapter, regional and national meetings.
· Assist in the development and management of national events as assigned.
EDUCATION:
· Bachelor’s degree required
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years experience in a non-profit environment
3-5 year experience managing and utilizing online fundraising tools
KNOWLEDGE and REQUIREMENTS:
Familiarity with Walk program(s) & event fundraising
Team player that has the ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers. Must develop, maintain, and utilize relationships.
Effectively multi-task, establish priorities, and work in a fast paced environment. Extremely efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure.
Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills. Capable of handling diversified assignments and highly adaptable.
Excellent written, oral, and communication skills. (Includes presentation delivery, conveying ideas, and instructing effectively.)
Ability to work and make judgments independently and take initiative. Self-starter, requiring little supervision.
High capacity to assess the value, importance, and/or quality of activities and people.
Understanding of various computer systems and databases. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Ability to travel as required.
