    Indian River Habitat for Humanity currently has a vacancy for a Development Associate to provide support to the Development Manager and the Grant Manager.  The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate independent decision making, and be a highly organized self-starter.  Excellent computer skills are mandatory.  The preferred candidate will have above-average knowledge of Raiser’s Edge software.

    Job Description:

    DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE OVERVIEW

    The Development Administrative Assistant plays an important role in meeting the fundraising and development goals of Indian River Habitat for Humanity by providing administrative support to the Development Department.  Position reports to the Development Manager and Grant Manager.

     RESPONSIBILITIES

    -        Update and maintain donor information in Raiser’s Edge database.

    -        Process donations and prepare acknowledgement letters and other correspondence in a timely manner.

    -        Maintain individual donor files.

    -        Generate weekly and monthly fundraising reports and other reports as necessary.

    -        Prepare, update, and maintain information necessary for sponsorship packets. 

    -        Assist with all functions, procedures and policies of special fundraising campaigns, i.e., Land Bank, Capital Campaigns, Endowment Campaigns including the preparation and maintenance of prospect lists.

    -        Coordinate and process mailings including the annual appeal, annual report and others as required.

    -        Generate mailing lists for quarterly newsletter and other mailings as necessary.

    -        Maintain guest lists, prepare registration materials and perform other duties as assigned for special fundraising events.

    -        Prepare post-event sponsorship reports.

    -        Prepare donor listings for publications.

    -        Handle administrative details associated with Board of Advisors, Planned Giving Committee, Special Event Committees, House Sponsor Committee, Scholarship Committee, Success Measures Team, and Green Team, including preparation and distribution of notices, agendas and minutes.

    -        Create and maintain support materials needed for grant proposals.

    -        Assist in researching grants to include in an annual grant calendar.

    -        Prepare a file on the share drive for each upcoming grant two months prior to the deadline date which includes the application, final report, and other relevant information.

    -        Request necessary information from applicable departments as required for grants.

    -        Assist in drafting proposals and narratives as needed.

    -        Assist in preparation and submission of required documents, funding requests, and reports for the Community Contribution Tax Credit Program (CCTCP), Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta (FHLB) Affordable Housing Program (AHP), Self-Help Homeownership Opportunity Program (SHOP), Homeownership Pool (HOP) Program, Softwood Lumber Program, State of Florida Solar Energy System Incentives Program, and the SunBuilt Program.

    -        Communicate with prospective and established house sponsor groups as needed. 

    -        Coordinate data entry and document preparation related to the Success Measures Pilot Program.

    -        Provide general administrative support for the Development Manager and Grant Manager.

    -        Perform other related activities as position responsibilities require.

     KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

    -        Ability to manage multiple priorities.

    -        Ability to communicate in writing.

    -        Ability to handle confidential matters.

    -        Ability to deal sensitively and effectively with others, both in person and by telephone.

    -        Excellent administrative skills and computer literacy.

    -        Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat PDF Files.

    -        Raiser’s Edge knowledge a plus.
