    Past Due/Custom Report Questions

We are just finishing a conversion from DonorPerfect to RE and I am trying to map out in advance the criteria and structure of some of the reports I will need to build when the conversion is complete.  For what we have been calling a Default report I thought we could use RE's Past Due Report.  I've shown it this to my boss and she likes it, but is adamant that the report also needs to have the Constituent ID and the balance of the pledge on it.

I remember years ago at another job and on another versio of RE you could make some modificatin to RE reports, but I don't think that is the case anymore.  That leaves me with creating a custom report in either Crystal or Access.  I know that I can run the past due report to create a static query of constituents who are past due, but does anyone know which fields I would export or even how to write the report so that it will break dow the delinquencies the way the RE report does?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!   Thanks.

    Re: Past Due/Custom Report Questions

Sounds like you'd have no problem creating the report if fields are available to export - I don't know that they are.  I think you'd have to calculate it in your exported file based on pledge date and/or installement date.

Alternative suggestion - look at the field options on the Mail>> Reminders>> create custom data file.  I use this to create a list for our exec., export to excel for his review.  Fields you can pull are constit ID, total pledged, total pledge payments, running pledge balance, total due, pledge date and more.  The past due amounts aren't  broken out by #days past due categories but adding a DATE360 column in excel can generate how many days between any date and the pledge/installment date. You may be able to pull what you need by including the installment fields.  Not as neat and clean as Past Due report, but may help.

    Best wishes.

Have you looked at the Pledge Status Report/Detail and the Cash Flow Reports? These may provide you with what you need.

    Re: Past Due/Custom Report Questions

Unfortunately, none of the alternate report suggestions that forum member offered are going to work for the report my boss would like to see.  So it looks like it will have to be a custom report using a gift output query that is created when I run RE' Past Due Report.

Among the columns my boss wants to see on the report are total pledge amount, pledge balance, and the delinquency amount.  The delinquency amount is where it gets a little tricky since there is no "delinquency" or "past due field" available in the field list of the export.  There is, however, a field called Number of Consecutive Missed Payments that I could use in writing an equation to figure out the delinquent amount.  The problem is that when I did the export nothing exported into that column.

Does anyone know how to ge tthe Number of Consecutive Missed Payments field to populate in an export?  Or does anyone one have a better way to due a custom "delinquency report"?
