    Investments Management (module?)

what is the best way to manage investments in FE? Right now we use the GL & the allocation module. However, this is not a very good solution. I would imagine that a software dedicated to non-profits would have a pretty sophisticated investments management tool. Something like the Fixed Assets module where you would put in the purchase date/price info for each security, and then when you get your statement each month, update each security. The system would calculate unrealized gain/loss, realized gain/loss, and make all the entries for you. Please tell me this exists!

If such a module exists I am also interested in it. I manually keep our gains and losses in excel.

This would be a dream come true. We currently are tracking all investments in an Excel sheet, but it is less than ideal.

We have investments is about 15 different funds and track these all in excel.

Excel works fine, the problem is getting the right specific information from the various funds that report different formats of information.

We keep 2 excel files, one for investments that have to be tracked at cost and one for investments that have to be tracked at market value.

we use the endowment module in blackbaud to track gifts/additions but we track all the activity on an Excel spreadsheet.  we have over 300 individual funds (or projects in blackbaud) so it's a humungus spreadsheet, but i find it easier than using the allocation feature in blackbaud.
