    Pledge Attributes Copied To Payments

I recently discovered that attributes entered on pledge records are copied to pledge payments (pay-cash). In my case this causes a problem because I have several custom interfaces that add attributes to pledges for identifying them later. The payments associated with the pledges should not have the attributes.

One example is a custom thank you process that marks pledge records with a thank you batch attribute. The reason for marking the pledges is so they can be requeried if one needs to reprint the thank you letters. I specifically do not want the pay-cash records in the query results.

I have work arounds for this. I am just wondering why the attributes are copied. In particular, what are some applications where they should be copied?

    Just curious.
