    Basic Import Error message

I am doing a constituent attribute import and I am getting the following message" The Import ID field is required to Update existing records" ..... I do have the import ID on my file and it is mapped on the fields tab. Might anyone know why I am receiving this message?

    Thank you,

    Re: Basic Import Error message

Are you updating existing attributes already present on a record or are you importing brand new attributes on to the record? If you are doing the former you need the Attribute import id to correctly update existing attributes. If you are doing the latter you need your import set to 'Import new records'. I do not have RE in front of me at the moment but hopefully that will help. Peter

Do you have two import ID fields?  I believe you need the constituent ID/import ID and an ID for the attribute (the existing one for updating or new ID for new record import).
