I am having some difficulty in getting FAW pointing externally. We had it set up initially for internal use only. I had another company setup the SSL piece for security purposes. My question is this? when I go into IIS Manager, I have a default website which points to c:\inetpub\wwwroot - if I change this to the actual location of FAW it works fine. I guesss I not 100% sure if this is where the change needs to be made? Or should there be something else I am doing?
Chris,
What issues are you experiencing when you have the default website pointed the default location (c:\inetpub\wwwroot)? Generally, you shouldn’t need to change this directory to get your external access setup. What error message do you get when accessing http://www.yourdomain.org/FAWEB7?
How are you setting up your external redirect to FAWEB? Are you using your external Firewall to redirect web traffic to your FAWEB server or another method?
You may want to consider posting this forum in the Database Administrators\Technical Forum to get more respones.

We had some issues when setting up FAWeb due to our firewall. We have one url pointing to an internal link for users on campus and another for pointing to the same spot for those users who are off campus (outside the firewall). They both point to the same spot on our FAWeb server but have a different path to get there. I have pasted the link in to see this. http://www.landmarkchristianschool.org/facultyaccess.html Hover over the link to see the url that it is pointing to. Not sure if this affects your situation or not but thought I would chime in.
David: thanks for your reponse. I fixed one issue based on your response (my ignorance). I forgot to enter the FAWEB7 after I typed in the domain name. I can now see the site inside using the correct url. I will now test the external access and see what happens. I will let you know how I make out. The responses so far have moved me closer to my end goal. Thanks again.
Thanks for your reply Norm. As repied to Dave your reponse has moved me in the right direction as well. This is one issue down, probably more to go. I'll be back on again if I run into more issues.
That's great news Chris! I am glad to hear that we were able to help. Keep the questions coming.
