    Merging Duplicate Attributes

We have several client attributes that we would like to merge with other, almost identical attributes.  Is there any way to do this?

    Re: Merging Duplicate Attributes

I have managed this by doing the following:

Rename the attributes you want to merge (I just put a -old next to the current name) Create a new attribute. Make a query of the attributes you want to merge. Globally upolad the new attribute to those in the query. Delete the old attributes that were in the query. (I do it this way in case a single record has more than one of the options that you are merging)

    Example:

    Attributes I want to Merge:

    Major Donor

    Big Donor

    VIP

I go into all three of those attributes and rename them

    Major Donor - Old

    Big Donor - Old

    VIP -Old

I create a query of all the records that have these 3 attributes and Name it Important Donors to merge

    I create a new attribute

    VID (Very Important Donor)

I globally add the VID attribute using the Query Important Donors to merge

I globally delete the old attributes
