Copying 'tokens' and IME - What is this?

Hi. A two part question. We've never stored credit card numbers in the BIO2 tab of a constituent record. Instead we only store them in a recurring gift template in the gifts tab.

What I would like to know is how if a donor asks us to process a single gift on his existing card, can we copy his credit card details into a new batch to be processed? You cannot seem to copy and paste the token with the '*'s as this does not work (they are replaced with "?").

So how can we copy the tokens across to the batch?

Secondly on right-clicking in the credit card number field, there is an option in the drop down titled 'Open IME' and then after you do 'Close IME'. Could someone please explain what this is?

Haven't tried to copy credit card # for a single gift in RE 7.91 yes, but I do know from the support roundtable session on 7.91 that credit card #s for single installment gifts are not stored in BBPS and that credit cards not stored in BBPS display with ???? instead of ****.  It may be changing to ???? as it's cash gift in batch vs pledge/recurring gift.

I'd probably ask on the online chat support - generally can get very fast answers to questions.

    Here's IME info from knowledgebase

    Description

What does Open IME mean when right-clicking on a constituent record?

    Answer

Input Method Editors (IMEs) are a Microsoft feature. Refer to the following Microsoft article for more information: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/downloads/recommended/ime/default.mspx.
