    Development Associate for Data Base Management and Research

    The Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania is seeking a Development Associate for Data Base Management and Research to perform database management and administrative support services needed to fulfill the goals and objectives of the Development Department. Essential Responsibilities: - Design and implement strategies for the most efficient and effective use of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge (RE) software to support and enhance Department activities. - Primary responsibility for high volume data input and systematic management of RE Database to maximize the full potential of the software. - Utilize software to maintain and update donor and prospect records, identify and segment constituencies, manage moves, track donor relationships, design and manage queries, generate reports for data analysis and produce mailing lists. - Conduct Donor Research and produce donor information reports as requested. - Support Chief Development Officer and Development Department activities. - Perform work processing and other computer assignments in accordance with priorities and deadlines. - Provide service to staff and volunteers via telephone, fax and one on one, verifying and requesting information. - Maintain confidentiality of information. - Occasionally assist with other aspects of the Development Department program. - Perform other duties as assigned to meet GSEP goals and objectives. Qualifications: - Excellent communication and problem solving skills. Strong proofreading and attention to detail. Ability to perform multiple tasks and work accurately under deadline. Understanding of fundraising principles and ability to provide necessary information and feedback to staff, donors and others in the community. - Ability to learn and become adept at using Raisers’ Edge software and performing data entry. - Ability to accurately enter data and/or work process at 65 wpm. - Computer literacy including the ability to comprehend and become proficient in new software as required. - Ability to use a relational database and spreadsheet software. Must be able to manipulate data, create reports, perform mail merge, and import/extract information from companion software. Ability to work accurately with financial data. - Sound judgment, ability to prioritize, and to work independently. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information. - Positive, “can-do” attitude which is demonstrated by a willingness to pitch in and help wherever needed as well as an ability to anticipate what is needed. - Ability to operate various types of office equipment such as copiers and fax machines. - Command of English grammar, spelling and punctuation. - Ability to work within procedures efficiently and handle several tasks concurrently to meet deadlines. - Ability to maintain systems for accurate record keeping. - Ability to move throughout the office in order to perform daily job functions. Ability to open and close file drawers and insert or retrieve documents. - Must be able to pick up and carry materials weighing a minimum of 20 pounds. - Must be willing to work with all persons without regard to age, race, gender, religion, ethnic origin, socio-economic status, sexual orientation or disability. - Post secondary education required and college degree preferred. - Knowledge of Girl Scout program desirable.
