    About the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF)The IMF is the country’s oldest and largest organization dedicated to providing education, support and advocacy for myeloma patients while funding important, lifesaving research programs in search of a cure.  Myeloma, also known as multiple myeloma, is a debilitating cancer of the bone marrow that affects approximately 20,000 new patients each year.  The IMF is dedicated to improving the quality of life of myeloma patients while working towards prevention and a cure. Job Description
    The IMF is currently searching for a qualified Data Specialist to join our development team.  Responsibilities for this position include:     ·         Timely data entry into Raisers’ Edge database for all incoming contributions including online, phone-in and mailed in donations.·         Processing majority of incoming gifts, pledges, merchandise orders, event registrations and tributes·         Maintaining accurate tracking of donation batches from entry to final balancing and submission to accounting department·         Processing all recurring donor contributions on a monthly basis·         Generating acknowledgment letters and/or receipts for contributions·         Maintaining up-to-date records for all past and current constituents in the database·         Creating and exporting queries, reports and mailing lists for IMF staff as needed·         Processing newsletter subscription renewal mailings·         Facilitating monthly reconciliation with accounting department·         Provides additional support to the development department as needed, including direct mail, events, annual giving, member fundraisers, major and planned gifts·         Providing additional support in answering telephone calls and taking donations over the phone as needed Qualifications·         Minimum 2 years experience of data entry using Raisers’ Edge required.  Additional experience using other Blackbaud products (Blackbaud NetCommunity) is preferred but not required.·         Accurate work and attention to detail are priorities for this position·         Advanced level of knowledge with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point and the Internet·         Must have good organizational and problem solving skills and be able to multitask effectively·         High School diploma or GED required·         Good interpersonal and written, oral and communication skills·         Ability to independently and as part of a team in a fast paced office is essential·         Be able to comfortably and compassionately speak with cancer patients as well as grieving family members who wish to set up tributes Salary, Benefits and Submission RequirementsThe IMF offers competitive salary and benefits to the right candidate including paid vacation, sick time, health, dental and IRA account.  There are possible opportunities available within the organization for career advancement.  Interested applicants should email resume and cover letter, including salary requirements to: hortner@myeloma.org  No phone inquiries will be accepted.
