    Inactive appeals

If you put an end date when you set up an appeal does it automatically become inactive on that date?  I assume that it would be the same for campaigns & funds too.

    Re: Inactive appeals

    Hi Cindy,

The appeal (or campaign or fund, which will behave the same way) does not automatically become marked Inactive.  After the date that you have specified as an end date, a user who tries to associate that appeal (or c/f) with a gift that has a gift date after the end date will get a pop up message that the gift does not fall within the date range of the c/f/a specified.  Users will be able to click OK and ignore that message and continue with data entry.  When a c/f/a is marked Inactive, a user would be UNABLE to continue with gift entry.  They would get a pop up message that the c/f/a indicated has been marked Inactive and must be marked Active in order to proceed with gift entry.  If they tried to continue, they would be unable to save the gift record.

I hope this is helpful for you.

    Thanks,

    Naomi
