    Exporting Addresses for "Related" Constituents

     Hello All,

    I am trying to export addresses for consitutents who are connected  by a relationship.  I do not want to export the relationship address -- I want to export the primary address for each consitituent.

     Since this is hard to explain here is an example -- we have a parent record and an alumni record.  They are connected by a parent/child relationship.  I want to export their addresses in the same export (so that I can see the addresses side by side).  Is there a way to do this?

    As I am working on this, it becomes clear to me that I do not understand why relationships have addresses, so I would love some insights on that.

    Thanks in advance for any help on this.

    I'm not sure I understand what you are doing. Can you walk us through what query (Query type and criteria) you are using and what fields you are using in export?

      Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;}

    I have tried this using both a constituent query/constituent export and a relationship query/relationship export.

    I created a query using constituent id numbers for the parents.  I then wanted to export the parent’s name and address and the alumni (child) name and address.  I do this using the parent/child relationship.  But the Alumni address that is exported is the one stored in the relationship and not the one stored in the alumni constituent record.  The relationship address is unreliable in our system, so I don’t want to rely on it.

    Does this help?
