Formatting Issues when Exporting from FE to Excel

We're relatively new to FE so I'm going to ask a question that might have already been addressed, so sorry if that's the case.

When exporting an income statement from FE to Excel, the column headings and subtotals don't line up under the correct columns.  This of course means going through the spreadsheet and cutting and pasting a bunch of lines of data.  Is there a way to get this to format correctly?

Also, is there a way to get actual subtotal formulas to come over, rather than having "hard" numbers export in?  I do alot of scenario planning, which means going through a spreadsheet and changing subtotals to formulas every time I export an income statement.

    Thanks!

Re: Formatting Issues when Exporting from FE to Excel

This is a common question people ask when exporting the Income Statement to Excel, so no worries. When you preview reports in FE, they actually display using a product called Crystal reports. Exporting from the preview causes Excel to get confused so to speak. Excel doesn't know how to place the information from the preview into each cell so it looks like the report preview.  When this happens, usually only one or two extra columns are added, so if you delete these extra columns in Excel the report will appear correctly. You can also export from the report parameters screen instead of the preview to avoid the information being passed through the other program.

In reference to exporting the formulas along with the data, we’ve had other customers request this functionality as well. I will add your organization to that list of customers. I hope this helps.
