I have 1 year of Raiser's Edge experience and cannot figure out how to run a query, or merge two queries, that will show me the name and address of certain relationships in our system. I work for a hospice and am trying to find the primary caregivers for patients in our program who died during a certain period of time. We do not list the primary caregiver as a constituency code, it only shows within the individual relationship tab. Working with the relationships and then having the output be the primary caregivers name and address is what is giving me the most trouble.
It sounds like your problem may be that you are expecting query to be the tool you use to export these names and addresses. Query should not be used for any complex reporting, i.e. any queries using one to many relationships - if you do not know what that means then I would try to always steer clear of using query for your reports/exports.
Use query to gather the group of records containing the relationships you want. But then go to export and add that query in the include section and use export's much more sophisticated tools to select the relationships and fields that you want to export.
Good Luck,
