I have a couple of questions about changing memberships. 

What happens to constituent records when you inactivate a membership category?  Does their membership run its course, does it get changed to new corresponding membership level, does it get inactivated?

What happens when you change the criteria associated with a membership, but not the name?  So, I just want to change the gift level associated with it.  What happens in the constituents record?

Does anyone have experience with this?  How did you go about it?
