We are actually receiving federal money for our capital campaign and I wanted to know how to enter it and record.  Who would the constituent be?

    Hi Britnee,

We legally can't record Federal Government in our financials. It is handled directly by the Hospital's Accounting & Legal Department. Genrally a lot of these types of grants have restrictions and milestones that have to be reached, reported and recorded, etc. that make the processing and handling of these gifts difficult. I would be extremely careful about applying it to your Capital campaign unless it's part of a Public PR dollars raised sort of a thing.

We have occasssionally included 'below the line' government grants on reports to our Boards, but they are not entered into the Fund Raising Software or managed there.
