Currently we have our home office broken down by dept. We can generate f/s, i/s with budget variances etc for the home office. the problem now is that the various depts are asking for their individual financial reports, budget reports etc. I am having difficulty getting the reports to give me the proper numbers. the actual exp seems to be on a consolidated basis while the budget is just for the dept. Anyone have any ideas??????l

I think it depends on your account structure. Are you charging the expenses to the individual departments?

We provide an income statement for each department with actual versus budget figures. Our account structure is Fund-Account-Department.

TERRY: We have the same account structure (we have a fourth segment after department). (we also budget on the department level.) What are your parameters in setting-up the reports. I've tried a number of different parameters but I still haven't found the right combo.

Under the general tab we have at level 4. Under columns we have ptd actual, ptd budget, ytd actual, ytd budget, yearly budget, and available, which is computed by substracting column 4 from column 5. Under sort, we have to print a seperate statement for each department code and show detail by account for statement.
