    Request - Donor Privacy Document

Does anyone have a sample privacy document? I want to establish a donor privacy document including the ruel that RE users may not export records in bulk or otherwise use the database outside of their job function. Thanks!

Re: Request - Donor Privacy Document

Here's what we have.  We also have a specific Confidentiality Agreement Form that employee sign & agree upon hiring.  It is a basis of suspension or termination if an employee is causing a breach in security of our data. It states something like this:

Employees will not remove any information in any format (electronically or paper), nor will an employee disclose the Mission’s information or other confidential material.  Employees will also agree to take reasonable security measures to prevent accidental disclosure.Donor Privacy Policy
    Protecting donor information
The (your org. name) is committed to respecting the privacy of our donors. Relationships with our donors are viewed as treasures. We deeply appreciate the trust our donors have placed in us. The (your org. name) will abide by donor requests and designations. We do not sell or give donor names or other information about donors to other organizations. Donor records are considered confidential unless otherwise agreed upon with a donor, such as a donor request to provide information to an attorney, accountant, or other professional financial advisor. The (your org. name) uses your donor information to understand your needs and provide you with better service. Specifically, we use your information to help you complete a transaction, communicate back to you, and update you on organization happenings. Credit card numbers are used only for donation or payment processing and are not retained for other purposes.

    'hope this helps.
