    Donor Recognitions

    Dear all,

Would you please give me feedback or sharing with me of how to track donor recognitions?  Please let me know if membership tab in Raiser's Edge is ok to use or attribute, or note tabs, any suggestion or feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

    Chi,

What do you mean donor recognitions?  Would you like to track acknowledgement letters? Or, perhaps you are looking for a place to put how the donor would like to be listed in a annual report for example?

In my experience, using the alias to record the donor credit line has been the best place to store that data.  Alternatively, you could add an addressee and salutation type for individuals and store the organisation's donor credit line as an attribute or keep them both as an attribute.

Do mean donor categories?  Like M/M Donor gets recognized by giving 500 to AF.  If so, it is in the Donor Category Table and report and you may have an additional salutation if they would like to be listed in this publication if a particular manner

    Re: Donor Recognitions

    Hi Debbie,

Thank you for your input.  Somewhat like Donor categories.  For example, M/M Donor donated $500 and we recognized them with gold plaque.  They decided to upgrade to $1000 for platinum plaque, we good like to track it, and put more details.  Right now, my co-worker is using attribute, but she wants to use memembership tab to record it.  She thought that it would be easy for her to query and they're in a secured place.  I am not sure if membership tab is good to use, because we are using membership tab for Employee Partners and Todos members.  Your input is greatly appreciated!

     Thanks Debbie

    Re: Donor Recognitions

    Hi Jason,

For example, if you donated $20 we recognized by giving a name on the main lobby wall this year.  At some point, your total go up to $1000 we want to recognize you by put your name on the special place in the hospital that everyone can see, we would like to track all those recognitions in our database, just not sure where is good place/tab that we can easily pull by query for export or something like that. Right now we are using attribute to track it, but not sure where is good place  in the database that we can use.

    THank you

    Chi

Attribute is what we are using right now, for some reasons my co-worker is not satified, becasue everyone can change the attribute (not secured)

    Thanks Charlotte

    Re: Donor Recognitions

We use attributes as well and we have a pretty big donor wall. We use two different attributes one that is labeled donor category which tells which level that they are currently in on the wall and the we use gallery of honor location which then tells us exactly what panel or the location of the plaque is. This system has worked well for us because you can query on those two things and query on total amount given so forth to match up the correct categories.
