    Online Appeals

We are in the process of trying to get more donation online and want to keep track of the appeals.  Has anyone had success in doing it online and how where you able to keep track of all the different appeals as the donations started to come in?

    Re: Online Appeals

If you are running special email blast, that asks your constituents to give online, try to place an Appeal into their tabs first; for example December 2009 Online Solicitation This would actually help you in the future to run various history reports.

Once a constituent gives online (assuming s/he does that within 30 days of your email blast), you could use the same the appeal name (December 2009 Online Solicitation) when creating a gift. In addition, you can fill in the Gift Code field as Online Gift. The Gift Code field is located under miscellaneous tab under gifts.

Other option for online gift is to use some kind of drop down on the online form that would ask a donor a question: “What prompt you to give today?” with the choices like Letter, Email, and Report. Also, you should fill in the Gift Code field as Online Gift. The Gift Code field is located under miscellaneous tab under gifts.
