    Overwriting records.

    Hi all,

I am an IT support engineer and have had no experience with Raiser's Edge.

One of my customers uses it and is having a problem.

If she opens a record and makes an addition/amendment.  When she tries to save it, she gets a pop up box stating that someone previously edited this record and any changes will now be overwritten.

If she clicks 'Yes' to save.  The previous addition/ammendment by the other user is removed.

If another user makes and addition/amendment.  The original changes are kept as well as the new ones.

Any ideas what is going on?

    Regards

    Duncan

     Hi Duncan,

It sounds like it is only happening to this one person, so perhaps that user has been corrupted, but I am not sure as I have never heard that message before.  Therefore, I would contact Blackbaud support or enter the error message in knowledgebase to find a solution.

     Good luck!

    Re: Overwriting records.

When I open a record that is already open by another user I get the following message:

This record is currently opened by user *********** on machine **************.  You will not be able to save changes.

Which version of Raiser's Edge is your customer using?
