Position Summary
The Database & Development Coordinator will be responsible for managing the Raiser’s Edge database and assisting with fundraising efforts.
This position is an integral part of the fundraising team and reports to the Director of Development.
Responsibilities
DATABASE
·
Maintain and encourage the accuracy and integrity of the Raiser’s Edge database.
·
Perform complex data searches and exports to produce detailed and accurate reports for use in mailings, data analysis, annual report, prospect analysis and appeal/campaign analysis.
·
Perform daily data synchronization and ensure integrity of content management system/web platform.
·
Assist with financial reporting and monthly reconciliation.
·
Complete all functions related to the acquisition and retention of donors, bookstore purchases, event registrations, electronic fund transfers, etc.
·
Construct queries and reports.
·
Produce personalized thank you, renewal and new donor letters as well as other communications.
·
Produce various mailing lists for outreach and event purposes.
·
Verify that the system is backed up on a regular basis.
·
Keep current with Raiser’s Edge educational opportunities and online resources.
·
Monitor usage of the database and assign security levels.
·
Update and maintain database standard operating procedures manual.
DEVELOPMENT
·
Assist in planning and implementing donor solicitation and retention activities.
·
Answer questions from donors regarding current or future contributions, promote benefits of donating, and respond to various information requests.
·
Write letters, emails, and other materials as needed for donor stewardship.
·
Respond and place calls to donors on a timely basis.
·
Process state applications for fundraising registrations.
·
Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising special events.
·
Work with the development volunteers in various capacities.
·
Some local travel may be required such as attending annual conference or special event.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Any combination of education or experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications include:
1.
Extensive experience with Raiser’s Edge database administration required.
2.
Knowledge of content management/web based platforms a plus.
3.
Up-to-date computer knowledge and willingness to learn additional skills.
4.
Ability to apply fundamental development practices.
5.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
6.
Solid ability to work independently and to work effectively with others in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
7.
Ability to juggle multiple tasks, exercise sound judgment and prioritize work.
8.
Excellent organizational skills.
9.
High level of attention to detail as well as ability to meet deadlines.
10.
Positive, team player with a constructive, “can-do” attitude.
11.
At least three years of general office experience, high school diploma with additional education or Bachelors degree.
12.
Preferred consideration will be given to candidates with a minimum of one year of experience within a fast-paced development environment.
