    Mass Create Actions

We are a new client of Raiser's Edge.  Our end user would like to mark records with an action everytime she does letters.  How can we accomplish this?  I reviewed the Knowledge Base & found you can do this using the Admin > Globally Add Records section, but I don't want to give her this level of access.  Is there any other way?  Thank you for your assistance.

Globally Add records is a quick, easy way to record the letters as actions.  If she's doing small numbers of letters she could certainly do it herself on each individual record.

Granting access to global functions is definitely something to carefully consider.  It's very easy to accidentally add/change records incorrectly.  Are her letters based on a query or export?  Perhaps she could provide the info needed: query/export name, date, letter title, etc. by a simple form to someone who has the access for global add/changes.  It would not take them more than a couple of minutes to run the global add/change.

When I did thank-you letters I would export them individually while entering the gift. At that point you can also add an action to document the letter sent. It takes a bit longer to do them individually, but if there aren't that many to do it isn't any more difficult than a global change.
