Is there a way to import a new constituent with a spouse and Raiser's Edge will assign a constituent ID to both?

Is is easier to seperate the constituents and their spouse and do seperate imports for both?

In our system we want records for both and have them linked.

I don't think so.  Thinking back to when we converted our data to RE, our consultant said no.  Each constituent with an ID was a separate record.  We created separate records for both spouses and included info for spouse relationship.  By our imported constituent ID's we could identify spouses (xxx-01, xxx-02); I think we had to manually link them - maybe conversion specialist did it. 

They both had to have records to import - and then once they had ID's they could be linked.

Hi, Melissa. BB162890 recommends importing one constituent from the spouse pair and then performing a second import of the spouses. When doing the second import, you can link the spouses by following the steps in BB23404. Hope that helps!
