    Director of Annual Giving

    The Office of Philanthropy at MaineGeneral Health has offices in Waterville and Augusta, Maine, and is recruiting a seasoned fundraiser with a dynamic personality to serve as the Director of Annual Giving.

    MaineGeneral Health is Maine's third largest healthcare system caring for 210,000 inidividuals in 90 communiites with a medical staff of 256; 287 beds in  three medical centers and 3,800 employees.  The Director of Annual Giving reports to the Vice President of Philanthropy who is a direct report to the President/CEO of MaineGeneral Health.  The Office of Philanthropy has recently completed a $16+million campaign and generates $2.5 - $3 million in annual support.  It has a staff of six with four professionals and two administrative staff.  The MGH Philanthropy team enjoys a creative, synergistic working environment and functions collaboratively within a complex healthcare organization that has benefited greatly from a growing philanthropy program.

    The Director of Annual giving serves as a partner to the Vice President of Philanthropy and is responsible for planning, directing and implementing all aspects of the Annual Giving Program.  The Director of Annual Giving manages direct mail activities for the Annual Appeal; coordinates volunteer committees including the President's Council and Planned Giving Advisory Board.  The Director of Annual Giving carries a full portfolio of President's Club and Corporate Partner prospects and donors and is expected to solicit gifts and sponsorships.  Excellent writing and presentation skills are critical to success in this role.
