The Union of Concerned Scientists is the leading science-based nonprofit working for a healthy environment and a safer world. We seek a Database Coordinator to assist our Database Administrator in managing the Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge database. This is an opportunity for the right individual to contribute skills and talents to a high-quality, mission-driven team. Responsibilities: The position is responsible for importing and exporting gifts and other information into the Raiser's Edge database and manually entering gifts and other information that cannot be imported. Also responsible for day-to-day database maintenance, developing and producing queries, custom reports, and other output. The database coordinator will make recommendations on data organization and integrity; assist the database administrator in developing policies and procedures; and monitor data and gift entry to ensure data entry guidelines are followed. Qualifications: Requires a strong attention to detail a high level of accuracy, flexibility, and the ability to multi-task, work efficiently, and meet tight deadlines. Ability to think analytically and follow complicated procedures is very important. Experience: Experience with Word and Excel required. Some experience with Microsoft Access preferred. The ability to learn advanced Access skills needed. Programming experience a big plus. Experience with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge software strongly preferred. Familiarity with and interest in fund-raising techniques and principles also preferred. Position Details: This position will be based in our Harvard Square office in Cambridge, MA.
