Booking a pledge as a recurring gift downloaded from NetSolutions

Hi there,

We're relatively new to NetSolutions and are trying to migrate our automatic payment scheduling to it, but I can't figure out how to set up our online donation pages in a way that's (a) similar to what our donors are used to seeing currently, and (b) allows us to capture necessary pledge and installment information.

Under our current system, a donor can enter their total pledge on our online donation form and choose a quarterly or monthly payment schedule. Then we manually enter the pledge and the payment schedule. With NetSolutions, it seems like you can either have a page that accepts/downloads one-time donations or pledges or a page that accepts/downloads a monthly recurring gift. The problem is that the pledge page doesn't require the donor to enter or request a payment schedule -- how would we know the installment schedule? -- and the recurring gift page doesn't download as a pledge, it can only download as a recurring gift.

I'm not sure how we can easily track donors' pledge balances, or query a total of committed and outstanding pledges. Even if we entered a pledge manually after seeing a new recurring gift download, we wouldn't be able to apply recurring gift payments to the pledge; only to the original recurring gift. (The gift type can't be changed to a pledge, either - we've tried that.)

Has anyone using NetSolutions found a workaround for this?

I know it's Friday afternoon but a question has come up: If a participant does not have to be a constituent, is it possible to track how many events a single participant has attended? If they attend multiple events and years later become a constituent, we don’t want the old data lost. Do you know how RE handles this?

Solicitors and entering into the Event Batch

Hi, Im wondering if anyone would know why the primary solicitors dont show up on reports if you enter an individual thru batch for an event registration, is there a setting in batch or somewhere that would allow for the report to print out their name? thanks.

NetMembers: Gift of Membership

Help! We just started using NetSolutions with NetMembers and I seem to be stumping everyone with my issues.

For gifts of memberships, does anyone know of a way to NOT create a membership at the time the gift is made? We don't "activate" memberships made via gift until their gift certificate is redeemed.

Also, I can see gift of memberships after I download the transactions in NetSolutions; however, when I import the information into a batch, I can no longer see anything that tells me it's a gift.

How do you handle gifts of membership through NetMembers? I'm lost on this one!

RE 7.81 and ICverify

Hi, We have recently gone live with RE and also have the EFT module. We are using the newest version of ICverify 4.0.2 and are having major issues with getting it setup and to work. I can give you more details but wondered if there was anyone else out there with this setup.

Raiser's Edge and AuctionMaestro Pro

We are an independent school that hold an annual auction. We currently use AuctionMaestro Pro (not integrated with RE), and find that it creates addtional work, since the event information (and the gift information) has go into RE Events as well as AMP. I'm not seeing the added value.

We are considering two approaches to the problem:

1. Integrate RE and AMP (costs $$$).

2. Drop AMP and do the whole thing in RE Events.

I am wondering if there are any users of RE and AMP who can weigh in. What, if any, value is added by using AMP? Is it enough added value to consider doing the integration instead of just dropping AMP?

NetSolutions download and batches

One of our users isn't able to download registrations from NetSolutions. When she clicks on "create batch", she gets a message stating that she is not authorized to delete batches. However, I gave her permission to delete batches. Is the problem with NetSolutions? How do I resolve it?

Event Module and adding guests thru a batch to an event

Planned Gift Tracker-apply one check to several Planned Gifts

We have a cash gift to apply to a 2 person gift annuity. The person who has the gift annuity record is deceased. The spouse is alive and was soft credited with the gift annuity. We would like the cash gift to be on the live person's record, but we can't apply it because the live person doesn't have the planned gift on their record. Any suggestions?

Gift memberships and "revenue" memberships

Acknowledging Donors for Fair Market Value at Events (don't have Event module)

Hi! We run RE 7.84.1720.3 and do not have the Events module.

Here is the issue we have: We have about 30 fundraising event a year. When we have to give a fmv for auction, raffle or even dinner, we are currently having to manually change each letter for auction and raffle items.

I can't seem to find fields to enter the event name, the auction/raffle item and the fmv along with the gift amount. I had thought maybe I could achieve this with the gift note description and gift note. This also would have given us an opportunity to save this info into the gift which we never did before. But, alas, the gift note description cannot be added to the merge letter.

Does anyone have an idea what we can use? I tried asking Support but their theory was to create attributes.

So, if you have any ideas, please let me know...

Memorial gifts but no tribute module

Hello all,

I'm hoping you can give me some help with tracking memorial gifts without the tribute module. We don't get many but we were just informed that we should expect many for a constituent that recently passed away. I haven't had to worry about this much because there have been so few since I started. What would be the best way to track these as they come in? In the past, a record has been created for the deceased individual and the memorial gifts soft-credited to the record. Is there a better way? I put an annotation on the record with who to notify of the gifts. I can't help but think that there are other ways to track these. We are also in the will and expect an estate gift eventually. Wouldn't it be better to keep his exisiting record with the history of his personal donations, the soft credits of the memorial gifts, and the estate gifts? Please let me know how others are handling these situations. Thanks!

Events Module

I believe this topic has been covered before, but I would appreciate some fresh answers. We are a relatively small faith based non-profit with one person (me) and one RE license using Raiser’s Edge to enter all donor data received from the 33 program offices in a 10 county area. Additionally, all the other RE functions are handled at this one location, by one person (requests for labels, downloads to mail-houses, NCOA, reports, thank you letters for donations received via our central office, etc.). At this time, all IT relating to RE is handled here as well and basically this small faith based non-profit receives the IT services for the current set-up as a donation (free) from the IT professional providing it. 1. Three or four of the 33 offices recently expressed an interested in the Events module for events in their program area. Any suggestions on how that could easily be handled given the current set-up? 2. Please share your thoughts on remote RE access at the various offices so they can handle their events - would that be costly and involved? 3. Please also share your opinion on employees at these various offices using RE/Events with no prior knowledge of RE (employees that can barely use Excel).

At one point, when I have asked this question a couple years ago, generally the forum answers (based on the existing set up) were for the various offices to provide me the data needed for RE for the event and I provide the info back at them in Excel (for them to learn Excel) and the office can work from that for their event. The largest event probably has about 200 couples attending – 400 or 500 people. Any input you have on this subject would be appreciated. Thanks!

NetMember functionality - does it query the database?

I looked in the help docs and knowledge base but couldn't really find this information - probably because it's something covered at time of sale - but does NetSolutions/NetMember know, when someone clicks a renew page, whether they are even an existing member? Can Joe Schmo log in and renew without ever being a member in the first place? Or is that all just dealt with upon import?

Is it any but a web store that exports/pipes data in a fashion that's readily acceptable in RE?

Prospect Module Proposal Naming

Duplicate Proposals for related records?

Seeking recommendations on how to handle related records when it comes to proposals. Our biggest donors have multiple records--home, family-owned business (or two or three), family trust. They're linked, of course, but the gift officers seem to forget to look in each record for a possible proposal. They'll open the home record, for instance, and if there isn't a proposal, will enter one--although a proposal for that exact campaign may already exist in the family trust record or business record. Then they'll enter loads of actions linked to their new proposal, and want me to consolidate after they've discovered their mistake. I can't merge solely select actions/proposals--that's an all or nothing, right?

Do any other organizations have this problem?

Job Assignments

Hi. I'm looking for pros and cons of adding Job Assignments for one time volunteers . . . .

Do I have to enter them on the Job Assignments screen?

Are there any reports that will not work correctly without Job Assignments added to a record (if you just add the job in TimeSheet hours)?

We are, of course, adding the Job worked when we enter Time Sheet hours. I've tried to find out via Case Central about "need" for Job Assignments and received only a statement that they can't advise someone what to do.

PROSPECT - WHERE TO STORE DONATION "ASK"

I am after advise on where to store a donation ask in regards to a fundraising prospect?

Would these be stored individually as Actions within the proposal? Or is there a better way around it?

We are wanting to store the number of asks to each prospective donor - and in turn - be able to export this information at some point.

action tracks - constituents no longer assigned to track

We had an Action Track that was originally assigned to 271 Constituents. However, that Track is now only assigned to 109 of those Constituents. So far, I haven't been able to find any rhyme or reason as to why these Constituents are no longer assigned to the track. It does not seem to be the case that all of these 109 have had the track completed. Does anyone know if certain kinds of imports or other global actions might inadvertently cause Constituents to be removed from an Action Track?
