You do need to record it as a gift from the legal donor which is the company and receipt only that donor.

I understand the reporting issue but you will have to set up internal procedures for using soft credits in reports when necessary and/or create custom crystal reports if canned reports do not report the way you want them toMelissa S. Graves

Raiser's Edge will allow you to show soft-credits in reports and for donor recognition.Beth Palmer

For reports, these small companies create a problem in that what we want to see on the reports is the individuals' gift information, not the small company.  I don't want to include soft credit in the reports.One thought is that the acknowledgement letter could indicate thanks to the individual for a gift made through the company (name). Does this become an IRS issue?</description></item></channel></rss>
