Based in Oakland, this position is an exciting opportunity to join a
dynamic and successful team at a leading national environmental
organization. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;p&gt;Reporting to the Development Operations Manager, the Development
Database Manager is responsible for the maintenance and administration
of the fundraising database, Blackbaud Enterprise CRM (BBEC), and
serves as the professional and technical resource for staff and vendors
in their regular use of the system. The Database Manager implements and
maintains fundraising policies and procedures to ensure data integrity;
provides training and support to end users; runs queries, manages
regular data outputs, and applies data overlays; manages relations with
the donor database vendor, and serves as liaison to the Information
technology department.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h4&gt;Responsibilities will include:&lt;/h4&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Maintain the integrity and quality of development data; ensure
appropriate measures exist to protect integrity and quality of data,
perform ongoing data improvement and cleanup, and solve data problems
identified during reporting, extraction, and analysis. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Maintain and enhance the structure of attributes, code tables, business rules and other setup functions in the database. 
&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Serve as primary data contact for direct marketing vendors;
perform regular, scheduled data exports, imports and overlays and
manipulate data using SQL. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Plan, schedule and execute reports and queries to meet defined specifications on agreed upon time requirements. 
&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Periodically eliminate obsolete query, export and report parameter settings. 
&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Conduct all global changes and/or data imports to maintain data. 
&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Maintain the latest software updates from external vendors, along with IT staff. 
&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Work with database software vendor and IT staff to plan for
and coordinate version upgrades, increases in database functionality,
data cleaning efforts, and to complete post-conversion data hygiene
efforts. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Conduct training for all new Development staff on the use of
BBEC, as well as specialized training in response to changes in staff
roles, practices and procedures, and database functionality. Develop
and adapt curriculum as needed. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Provide support and training in use of application; troubleshoot and resolve application and database-related problems. 
&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Review and update practices and procedures for use of BBEC to increase efficiency and enhance performance. 
&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Review and provide feedback on improvements or changes to business processes and documentation provided by users. 
&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Optimize use of the database, and stay current on
technological trends that impact the department&amp;#39;s operations, including
enhancements to BBEC functionality.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience in donor database
&amp;amp; systems management, SQL writing and broad knowledge of
fundraising principles and practices, including familiarity with direct
marketing strategy.&amp;nbsp; Must have excellent organizational &amp;amp;
interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage
multiple tasks and a variety of demands. Must possess excellent
analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively and
strategically, exceptional verbal and written communication skills with
the ability to convey concepts and procedures in a training situation
along with a strong ability to build solid effective working
relationships with others.&amp;nbsp; Bachelor&amp;#39;s degree or equivalent experience
in development and database management is required.&lt;/p&gt;
