I successful globally added an appeal to selected records with admin>globally add but what is the difference between global add and change? can they be used interchangeably? they seem to do the same thing? also, I only have global add (not change) option in Admin - is that right? thanks

Can we enter the jobs as a batch

I recently started to work for a non profit. I am familiar with Gift batch entry and Constituent batch entry.

I have a list of jobs need to be entered.( all volunteer jobs and titles )

Is it possible to do a batch entry for jobs alone ?

I couldnt figure it out ? strated to enter single job one by one.

Any help ?

hello, I work with the Maui Humane Society. We have recently been wanting to enter our cremations into our Raisers Edge system. I'm not sure how I should go about doing this. I would like to not have to enter it as a gift, because it's not, but I still want to be able to produce a query for it, so when the time comes an acknowledgment letter can be sent to the constituents. I know that there is an option to add a pets name and information into the constituent information, not sure how to do that either. Is there any other animal welfare group that does this practice? How do you manage your database? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Relationship Question - Primary Business Information Check Box

Under individual relationships what is the difference between the primary business information check box and employee check box? Why are both listed since the primary business information as per Knowledgebase is used to indicate that the business is the indivual's current employer. This seems redundant. As the use of the relationship/reciprocal field when the individual relationship is tied to a organization constituent. I am confused.

Create a cultivation card for board members

Has anyone created a hardcopy cultivation card that board members can use to record data collected from potential sponsors, vendors, donors, etc. as they seek funding for our institution at various functions? I am looking for something that would match the RE fields. I know in this age it seems a bit archaic but that is the request I have from mamnagement. I am sure that I can pull one together but I thought if I did not have to reinvent the wheel so to speak it would be most helpful. I am in the start-up phase of RE and am rather swamped, so any help would be appreciated.

Adding benefits to a gift that's already been committed

Is there a way to add benefits to a gift that's already been committed? Our gifts processor entered the gifts in batch and has already committed them. When she went back into the batch to try to add the benefits to specific gifts, the benefit field is greyed out and not accessible. When she went into the individual gift and detailed into the gift tab, benefit wasn't one of the options. Is there a way to do this after the fact? Thanks, in advance, for any help you can provide!

Credit Card processing options - IC Verify, IATS, or any others?

Hi,

Our organization is primed for growth and looking for a long term credit card processing solution.

We are currently using IC VERIFY, but are really not confident this will be an effective long term solution for our organziation. I believe my predecessors have looked into IATS in the past, but shyed away from the extreme costs compared to IC Verify.

IC Verify is very troublesome as far as lockups etc, and is really contributing to a lot of errors monthly, but I'm going to have a hard time convincing our department to switch to IATS because of the costs.

Can someone shed some light on the costs of IATS compared to what you found with IC Verify? I'm trying to do some internal research to see what the differences were, and find out what we are paying now and what the proposal was from IATS. Does anyone have any experience working with both and could breakdown the costs between them?
Are there other 3rd party modules or vendors that are out there who integrate well with Raiser's Edge, or are these the only two options?

I really appreciate if anyone can help shed some light on this.

Code for soliciting once a year?

We have several consituents who have requested to be only solicited once a year and we are looking to create a code to group them. Does anyone have any best practices for this? We considered using a solicit code, but it means having to remove another code when we do queries. We also considered using an attribute and leaving them as "Do Not Solicit" but we wondered if this was the best use of an attribute. Does anyone have any good suggestions? We currently can count the constituents who request this on our hand, but I think we will be seeing more requests like this in the future.

Tributes - without the module

Trying to come up with a standard process of entering tribute donations into RaisersEdge but our organization did NOT purchase the tribute module. I've already set up a query to search the gift reference field for Tribute: (name here) but if there is a more standardized version someone else has come up with (less typo friendly) I would love to hear about it.

entering a batch

We have just upgraded to 7.91

When I'm entering a batch and have finished entering gifts-if my cursor is in the next blank line-I get a message saying, Required Field Missing: Fund

I have to delete the blank line before I can print my report. Any ideas? Thanks

Receipt/Donor Acknowledgement Letters

I am fairly new to RE and looking for a solution to merge within mail one addressee with multiple gifts into one letter. We are in the process of revising our Receipt/Donor Ack. Letters for our Holiday Tree of Light Donations. We have 6 cities that participate in our TOL ceremonies and our donation envelopes have a light color to select (red = $5.00, green = $10.00, blue = $25.00 ect.). Last year we had approximately 3,000 donors with 6,000 gifts and of these 5,800 were tributes. We have a Memorial/Honoree Board (crystal report) set up in each city that displays the memorial/honoree name and the donors name for that fund (city Stockton TOL, Lodi TOL, ect). A donor may give $100.00 and wants 20 red lights for 20 different tribute names to 3 different funds (cities - Stockton TOL, Tracy TOL, Manteca TOL, ect). We batch the gifts by city and have a misc batch for multiple cities - we may have up to 100 gifts in each batch and 5 batches in a day. Last year we had to go through each envelope and edit the letters with multiple tribute names so that we only produced one letter to each constituent on that given day/batch.The problems we are having is merging the multiple tribute names into one constituent letter with a summary gift total and have the record show as acknowledged.

Would like to compare 1/1/08 to 1/1/09 to see where she was and is and how it compares. Thanks for any help with what report I should use to pull this information.

We enter gifts through batch and on a few occasions in the last few months, although we have "committed" a batch and it appears to have been committed, the gifts within that batch have not "applied" into the constituents' records.

Anyone know what may be happening here?

We are currently hosting the Raisers Edge software locally opposed to having BlackBaud host the software. We are running into many bumps in the road in regards to software compatibility. It seems that the Raisers Edge software does not play well with other applications. We've had to systematically un-install local user applications because certain parts of Raisers Edge will not function well.

I am looking to link up with an institution who has decided to host Raisers Edge locally on their own servers and talk about bumps in the road that they have encountered. Please get in touch with me

How to track the benefits related to an event's sponsorship?

Hi!

I'm trying to figure out a way to track the benefits related to an event's sponsorship.

For example: What was the benefits proposed in the initial proposal? What was negotiated? Which benefits promised could be achieved? Which couldn’t?What was the quantity printed, the reach or the attendance of the benefits (ex: Mention in an e-newsletter --> send to 500 members) ? We work with different levels of sponsorship: Presenting Sponsor, Partners, Sponsors, etc.

For now, I tried with the default benefits related to the Prices’ units (which are my differents levels of sponsorship) of an event.

Is it possible to add columns to the benefits table (i.e. number of members reached) ?

Is it possible to reload the same benefits related to a price's unit from one event to another?

How can I export the information noted in the Benefits table of a participant (Benefits, counts, Sent/Fulfilled, comments, notes) into a Microsoft Office Word post-event report for the sponsor (what did he get from his sponsorshp?) ?

It is possible to track the benefits related to sponsorship which isn't for an event (i.e. sponsorship for the museum and not a specific event or exhibition)?

Relationship/Reciprocal Confusion

Evidently, Blackbaud does not make any reccomendations on the usage of Relationship/Reciprocals so they referred me here! Can someone please share with me their best practices for the useage of these two fields. It can be extremely confusing when you are trying to add an organization record to an individual record and vice versa.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

How to install Raiser's Edge on Mac computers with Paralles

We have a couple of users at IMSA who's primary computer is a Macintosh running OS Version 10.4 or 10.5. We have installed a program called Parallels on their Macintosh to enable them to run Windows applications in a virtual machine environment. We need to find out if you or any of your other customers have successfully gotten Raisers' Edge to run in a similar environment? If some one has been successful, can you or they share the installation or setup configuration with us.

Is there a Blackbaud Product for a computer technical company?

Just curious if there is anything Blackbaud creates for a crm that would work in our computer business. We want to go paperless throughout - from receiving customer computers to the technical work orders. We also want to sell service contracts in 10 hour bundles and track what a customer has used. I like the Raisers Edge software and I really appreciate the warm feeling I get dealing with Blackbaud's support team. Man are you guys/gals on the ball! We even discussed my experiance in staff meeting today and how a first impression makes someone feel very comfortable with their service company! Great job!!

List Distribution Policies

We're a large non-profit that is a membership organization driven by volunteers. I'm looking to re-vamp our Distribution Policies to prevent abuse since I hear all too much 'Hey, I'm a member, I want a pull of the entire state of Illinois for "alumni related purposes"'. Obviously these requests could be because of a organizational related request or for their own personal gain AND I do not want our members bothered when they need not be.

What are your List Distribution policies? How do you limit? Prevent abuse? Reasons for telling someone no?

I'd really appreciate assistance with this!
