Looking for TIE users in SC

I apologize for the cross posting with Blackbus, but I don't want to miss anyone. I'm looking for some other TIE users here in SC (I'm in Charleston). We implemented it over 6 months ago, but I still can't get a handle on this software & how we can make the most of it. Selections

We’ve been using TIE since version 1.6 and so we started off running all of our direct marketing activity using smart fields. We quickly ran into performance issues and SQL server limits which were addresses in version 1.71 with balanced smart fields. We are now on version 1.8 which has introduced selections. We have not started using these extensively yet mainly because I am unsure how they will work for more complex selections. For example, we may want to do a selection to select people who have made a gift within 2 weeks of an action. I cannot find a way to compare dates like this. Also, we often end up with segmentations with many different segments. We may be mailing committed givers, cash donors, major donors, etc and then splitting all of these groups by whether they are getting the email or mail version, then by the regency of their last gift, etc. You can very quickly end up with a lot of different segments. I can see that there are a couple of ways of doing this: [b]A: Create one segment for each selection.[/b] Pros:[list][*]Don’t need to worry about dependencies [*]Keeps number of selections small[/list]Cons:[list][*]If you need to change the criteria for a cash donor, you need to change it in multiple places. [*]Performance is possibly slower with this method[/list] [b]B: Create segments for each group and then combine these to get your final segments[/b] Pros:[list][*]Definitions are not repeated, therefore changing the criteria for a cash donor for example changes it everywhere it is used [*]Faster[/list]Cons:[list][*]Having dependant selections means that you need to be aware of the dependencies and refresh them manually in the correct order[/list] Do you work in another way? TIE users

I'm wondering how many people in your organization are active users of TIE. Currently, I'm the only one who's used it, and I'm not sure how much to show people. I think it's important for someone else to know how to use it, but a lot of people here are very new to pivot tables, and find the interface confusing. If you do have users pulling reports, have you put together any kind of guide? I printed the 300-page user guide from BB, but I KNOW people don't want (or need) to read that.

Cubes not showing up

I've have a non-blackbaud database, that has a cube created for it. I've created a new data mart in TIE with the USC. It sees the tables no problem, but does not show the associated cube. Thanks Jeff

Choosing when indexes are added when refreshing a datamart

I've created a datamart with a couple of staging tables which I use to build subsequent tables. Currently, all the indexes are added at the end of refreshing all of the tables but I would like to have the indexes added at the end of each table. Is there a way to tell TIE to do this? Datamart Schema

I'm having a problem when adding a new table to an existing datamart. I have a field called ID which is an identity and then a number of other fields (which bring across soft credits). I cannot work out how to tell TIE to not try to import into the identity field so I am getting this error. Calculating NPV and XNPV

I have a pivot table set up to calculate NPV and XNPV and it is calculating NPV for all but two of the pledges. Does anyone out there have any experience with this?
