We will be opening a new cancer center in a couple of months, across from our hospital and moving the current center out of the hospital location.  We have a number of named spaces in the current location and will not be moving the namings to the new space.  We will be placing a recognition display in the new facility acknowledging these prior donors and thanking them for their support. 

How have other organizations handled this and how have you recognized previous major donors whose namings may have not transferred to the new space?  I am also having issues as to how to reference their giving and its connection to the old space.

 

I am not sure if this will help but a few years ago, our hospital acquired another hospital in our small city.  We certainly wanted to honor those who supported that hospital so did took the time to do a complete inventory of recognition plaques at that hospital.  We then did one sole plaque listing all those in honor of that hospital.  This is placed in a prominant location in our hospital.
