Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if so how/whether they resolved it.

Most of the machines we have (all XP running Office 2003) are fine for creating a letter from the constituent record.

One is getting an error message (that won't clear unless you force RE and Word to close)

"Word cannot save this file because it is already open elsewhere. (C:\...\STARTUP\EN10Cwyw.dot)"

I've seen from Google that there are a few other app's which connect to Word with the same problems. But there doesn't seem to be any relevant answers.

 Any help would be appreciated

Hi, Chris. Not sure if you found this in Knowledgebase, but you may want to try renaming all of the normal.dot files to normal.old. See BB221078. Hope this helps!

 Note: if you have configured word to have ANY form of custom formating or anything else in the default document renaming normal.dot will get rid of it.
