BACKGROUND:
The American Refugee Committee is a nonprofit based in Minneapolis, MN. ARC works in Africa and Asia helping victims of war and civil conflict rebuild their lives. ARC programs provide health care, clean water, shelter repair, legal aid, trauma counseling, microcredit, community development services, and repatriation assistance to nearly two million people, annually. ARC bases its relationship with uprooted peoples on mutual respect and a compassionate exchange of knowledge and values.
ARC’s development and public affairs department is tasked with:
1) Raising $2.1 million in unrestricted funds annually from individuals, corporations, and foundations
2) Sharing information about ARC programs with all constituents
3) And representing the needs of ARC beneficiaries to the media, legislators, working partners, and the general public
SCOPE OF WORK:
As a member of the Development & Public Affairs team, the Gifts Administrator will contribute to department and organization operations by entering and acknowledging gifts from ARC donors in a timely, consistent, and donor-centered manner.
This position is temporary, from mid-October to mid-January, and requires 15-20 hours of work per week.
