    Development Associate – Part-time

    Grace Church in New York is a member of the Episcopal Diocese of New York.  The parish is almost two hundred years old and has occupied the present buildings since 1847.  The congregation has a rich music mission, including three choirs, and a tutoring program for children in New York public schools. The Development Associate reports to the Director of  Development, who oversees all aspects of fund raising to support the Church and its missions.  The two major fundraising programs at present are an annual campaign and a capital campaign for restoration of certain parts of the Church and installation of a new organ. The Associate’s responsibilities include: 
    • Creating accurate, appropriate records in Raiser’s Edge for all pledge, capital campaign and special fundraising programs and working with the Church’s accountant to ensure that those records conform to Financial Edge general ledger accounts.
    • Maintaining the records in Raiser’s Edge on a weekly basis, including entering data relating to payments on pledges and other donation receipts and updating the      donor database.
    • Producing quarterly reports for individual donors.
    • Producing annual end-of-year tax letters for donors, as well as annual reminders to pledgers to the capital campaign.
    • The Development Associate will also be responsible for participating in special projects, such as working with the Director of Development to create a policies and procedures manual for the Church’s fundraising efforts. 
    Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required, several years experience in fund-raising strongly preferred.  Must be conversant with Raiser’s Edge and fluent in Excel and Word.  The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills.
