    Lead Webmaster - Dallas, TX

    Lead Webmaster, World Affairs Council of Dallas / Fort Worth Description:

    The World Affairs Council of Dallas / Fort Worth is seeking a creative, independent worker with excellent communication and collaboration skills to manage, administer/maintain and expand our organization’s online presence. The Lead Webmaster will report to the Director of Marketing & Communications and will be exclusively responsible for the creation and maintenance of website designs, with attention to ease of navigability, a consistent look and feel and strict adherence to the highest possible production, editorial, graphical and content standards. The Lead Webmaster will also play a key role in the development of online marketing strategy, e-communications and continually seeking new online revenue possibilities. The Lead Webmaster will perform other related duties such as email “blast” production, overseeing any audiovisual production work and managing/maintaining the software environment underpinning the website.

     Skills/Experience:
    • 4-year university degree or equivalent.
    • Minimum 1 year proven experience as a web designer or developer.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with graphics design and illustration for the web, to include experience in an Adobe CS2-CS3 environment.
    • Experience with Content Management Systems and WYSIWYG editors strongly preferred, especially Blackbaud’s NetCommunity or CuteSoft’s Cute Editor for ASP.NET.
    • Experience with database integration and a strong understanding of site functionality, architecture and data flow, user interfaces and intuitive navigation schemes – especially online event registration.
    • Experience developing by hand with HTML, XHTML, CSS (a must!), JavaScript, RSS and XML. Flash, ActionScript and ASP.NET are a definite plus.
    • Exposure to online marketing, e-commerce and e-communication best practices, including web traffic stats/report measurement and search engine optimization techniques.
    • Ability to evaluate analytics and collaborate with peers, the Marketing Director and the organization’s constituency, and to initiate changes to the website based on conclusions.
    • A strong interest in the non-profit sector, international affairs and foreign policy is desired
