    Raiser's Edge and IATS

Is there anyone out there using IATS to process their EFT's, ACH,s, and Credit Card transactions?  What other systems are being used to process payments?

Yes, we've been using IATS for a few months to process all credit cards and direct debit (EFT/ACH) transactions.  We have been very pleased so far, especially since we had previously been using ICVerify for credit card processing.  It is like night and day -- IATS works seamlessly with RE, whereas ICVerify is a separate program.  Although it can interface with RE to some extent, it cannot come close to the efficiency that IATS does.  On top of that, ICVerify was a shoddy program, with numerous bugs and shutdowns, and horrible customer service.

Hi, we currently use ICVerify - a very old version I might add.  While it's not pretty and overly user-friendly, it does work.  We recently purchased an upgrade that will install on each users machine.  However, the instructions might as well be in a completely different language.  Can you let me know what bennefits the IATS software has over ICVerify and other differences?  I'm just preparing an argument as to why we need to change software and need as much info as I can get.  Thanks for your help!Big Smile

We use IATS for our credit card transactions.  It works well for us.  We've had no problems.

    Re: Raiser's Edge and IATS

    Hi,

Our organization is primed for growth and looking for a long term solution. I believe my predecessors have looked into IATS in the past, but shyed away from the extreme costs compared to IC Verify.

IC Verify is very troublesome as far as lockups etc, and is really contributing to a lot of errors monthly, but I'm going to have a hard time convincing our department to switch to IATS because of the costs.

    1. Can someone shed some light on the costs of IATS compared to what you found with IC Verify?
    2. Are there other 3rd party modules or vendors that are out there who integrate well with Raiser's Edge, or are these the only two options?

I really appreciate if anyone can help shed some light on this.

In order to take advantage of the IATS integration for processing direct debits you'll need to on Raiser's Edge version 7.85 patch revision 6 or higher.  To learn more about electronically processing direct debit transactions with IATS please see my recent blog

    Re: Raiser's Edge and IATS

    Hi all,

We are currently on Authorize.net and looking into both IATS and CyberSource. We need a processor that will work with both RE and BBNC especially in terms of recurring giving.  I was wondering if you are someone at your organization would be willing to share some information with me?-          Is processing through BBNC and RE directly supported?-          What are the rates?-          What types of forms are required to sign up for the service?

    Thanks so much!

    Kelly

    Re: Raiser's Edge and IATS

We use IATS and are very pleased. While I don't know a cost comparison (the topic comes up every year and we still stick with IATS), it does work seemlessly and customer service is great. You can also generate a variety of reports from IATS based on any time frame, type of card, etc. It is easy to download credit card transactions into excel for use by our accounting department. Processing through into BBNC and into Raiser's Edge is easy. 9BBNC has it's own glitchs aside from IATS.) If I may, we are just starting to get recurring gifts online. We the amount just be automatically deducted through IATS every month?? Thanks.
