Title: Prospect Research and Data Manager, Development
Organization: The Children's Aid Society
Reports to: Director of Planned Giving & Major Gifts and Business Manager, Development
Job Summary:
Responsible for maintaining a significant prospect research and analysis capability to enhance the ongoing development activities, and managing the data input and retrieval from Raiser's Edge database for The Children's Aid Society. Assist with financial reporting and monthly reconciliation. Function as liaison and responds to project needs of inter/intra departmental staff.
Required Experience:
Bachelor's degree; a minimum of three years in development/fund-raising, with prospect research experience. High proficiency with Raiser's Edge software required. Familiarity with prospect research resources (e.g. Lexis-Nexis, iwave and Wealthengine) and NYC-area philanthropic community. Excellent analytical and team work skills. Excellent written and communication skills to interact with all staff and Executive offices. Ability to juggle multiple tasks, exercise sound judgment and prioritize work. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to discern relevant facts; an understanding of the role of prospect research in development, and development in institutional advancement; respect for privacy and confidentiality. Must be comfortable with database maintenance, accounting and financial reporting. Skilled with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook and library resources.
