    Browsers for FA Web

Is anyone out there using a browser other than Internet Explorer for FA Web?  In particular, I'm looking for those who are using Firefox but am open to any and all comments/suggestions.

We are having issues with FA Web locking up at times or simply just shutting down in the middle of a session, which makes it a hard sell for our teachers to use.  I am hoping another browser might provide more stability in conjuction with the network upgrades/improvements we've done this summer.

     Thanks in advance!

     Hi Dexter,

My staff is using Firefox and IE...[some use Chrome] we are having serious issues with lock-ups, "Loading" getting stuck and timing out, and buttons disappearing. I have personally just entered the same column of grades 4 times and am really frustrated. I'm looking for some suggestions or ideas myself.

The issue does not occur when we are connected to the network at school, but when we remote in from home....all kinds of problems...doesn't matter if we are a PC or a Mac....if we are off the school's network...the problems persist.  It is my instinct to say that it's not the browser...perhaps it is a proxy thing?

We didn't have these problems until we did an upgrade in August.

We use both IE7 and Chrome at our school. No issues with lockups or timeouts lately. We did have a problem with this at one time so we had users customize their screen to only show this weeks grades instead of the entire quarter's grades. In other words, have FAWeb show less information(grades/test/quizzes) for the gradebook so it has less to load reducing the chance of a timeout.

We've had errors when folks paste text into the Comment window that only occur with Firefox.  So for us, we're sticking with IE as our standard.

Our faculty uses both internet explorer and firefox.   I have heard of any problems with firefox, but those that upgraded to Internet explore 8 seem to be having a lot of issues.
