    Donor Listing by Class Year

To those who recognize their donors by listing them by class year: What is your philosophy on listing ONLY graduates vs. listing grads AND "former students". We want to begin listing by class year to encourage alumni participation, but have a number of former students (who left without getting a degree) who give every year. We are looking at models where all donors of a certain level and above are listed by donor club, followed by another listing by class of alumni who give any amount.

    Donor Listing by Class Year

We have coded students who haven't graduated as Non Grads. They get included in our Friends group. In our Report of Giving we list Alum twice. Once by Donor Levels, all classes mixed in together (we put Name and Grad Year in the list) and once by Class Year with the Donor Levels within that. Friends and Non Grads are listed by Donor Level only. (Friends are any one who is not an alum or non grad.) Laura A. Donor Listing by Class Year

Laura: What is your lowest Donor Level that you list? We have a $1 - $99 group that is huge. We are thinking about NOT listing it, and using those pages for the class lists. That's the dilemma. Will a donor of less than $100 dollars that's a non-grad be offended because their LEVEL is no longer listed, they weren't included in a CLASS list? Shirley

    Donor Listing by Class Year

We are not an Education facility but we only list donors of $100 or more because that $1 - $99 group is so large. In fact it says on our reply slips... Donors of $100.00 or more will be listed in our next Annual Report... and goes on to ask how they would like their name listed or if they want to be Anonymous. Would something like this work for an Education facility? Melissa Melissa S. Graves Manager, Development Database & Direct Mail Planned Parenthood of Connecticut [Email Removed] 203-752-2804

    Donor Listing by Class Year

For the Donor Levels listing only for Alum, we don't report less than $100. For the Class Year levels, with the donor levels in that, anything under $100 is listed as a supporter. (We actually have different levels between $1 and $99 but don't list them. The levels are a holdover from the start of the Development office about 10 years ago.) For Friends and Non Grads, there is a donor level called Supporter that lists everyone who gave $99 or less. Again, we put the Non Grads in the Friends category, so they aren't listed with the class they were associated with or any class year. So far no one has complained! :-)
