I think that either everyone is on vacation or they are drowning in work.
We are a graduate school of theology with about 300 students. We recently migrated from Registrar, Admissions, and Student Billing 6 to Student Information Systems. In fact, migrated in the last month. Our registrar and admissions people are having major issues with slow response - even getting locked up after waiting 10 minutes. We just had BB's consultant spend a week on campus. He spent the week sitting in the ISS dept. and rarely communicated anything. Our staff did the actual conversion so we do not know what he was doing to the system. Our hardware more than meets BB's requirements. Is there hope for us. We use Financial Edge, Raiser's Edge, and now SIS. We need to know if anyone can offer help as to our system bogging down.
Thanks,

I don't have any experience with SIS, but I know I had issues with response times in RE when we moved to a new server (we are running RE & FE) -- turned out the local machine ODBC settings needed to be updated (server name in ODBC.ini for RE7_GL wasn't the proper database name) -- we could open RE, but as soon as you tried to access a record our systems hung. AS soon as we updated the server reference to the correct name of the database everything started functioning properly.
No idea if this will help, but may want to have someone check the ODBC settings for the local machine using regedit.
The Episcopal Divinity School uses Blackbaud SIS, and I'd love to connect with other users.

Central Bible College uses Blackbaud Student Information System, Student Billing, FinancialEdge, RaisersEdge, Online Campus Community, NetClassroom, FaWeb, and E-Req's.
We're definitly here and running full speed ahead with the system. We've been installing the system since 2007 and haven't had opportunity to get onto the blog site till today.
We recently fully went live with all aspects of the system and getting back to a more normal pace of life (if there is such a thing in the world of Higher Education).

Hi Penny,
We are working with Student Info System and just recently brought Payroll 7 on board. We had been using Payroll 6 and found it to be fine for our 250 to 350 employees. One had the option of posting in detail or summary and, of course, we chose summary. Now Payroll 7 does not offer the option and posts in detail. Trying to work around this posting, BB reps suggested that we buy their Advanced Security Module which allows us to block accounts to users. They assured us it would not cause problems when those users attempted to run balance reports that did not show detail. Well, after blocking all the salary expense accounts to our users, my general ledger clerk ran a financial statement and it has no salary totals in it. Are you experiencing any of these problems? Have you been able to resolve them? If so, how? I am getting desperate!

Hello people,
This is YWCA England & Wales, based in Oxford. We're just in the process of converting from Visual Alms, and hope to go live at the end of October this year. I'm the DBA for the organisation, and will post more as we get nearer go live date.
Cheers
