    Cleaning up of database

Hi, is there any suggestions on how to clean up records in Raiser's Edge 7? I've been doing the merging and i think its not enough doing this things. Do you have any idea on how and what are the things to be cleaned up? Thanks a lot!

    Cleaning up of database

Cleaning up of records within the Raiser's Edge 7. For example under the relationship tab,the same person has been saved for many times, so i want to get rid of that & i want to saved only 1 record for each particular relationship. Other thing to consider is under In Mem/In Honour, how could i get rid of all the In Mems/In Honour tribute with the same name? Actually I can delete it manually, is there any steps that i could not work on this one manually? Thanks for the help.

You can create a query of the records that you want to delete and then go to admin and use the globally change records option. Hope this helps. Ann

What are the usual mistakes you notice in your mailings or during data entry? Built Control queries to flag those ahead of time. For instance, I have a query that flag any Preferred address with a end date where"Has no valid address" is not checked. Another flags records with no Primary address/salutations. Another flags records with joint salutation while the preferred address is business. Etc. You can also periodically review your table entries, to make sure there is no entries not longer used, or garbage. The type of cleaning you describe above is more difficult to flag with queries, since you cannot ask for duplicate contacts for instance.
